Introduction

Monkey Kick off is a simple, fun football distance kicking game.

Description

Monkey Kick Off is a refreshing reworking of a classic game idea, perfectly executed with bags of personality. Help Monkey kick his coconut ball back to Monkey Village then challenge your mates to do the same.

The Story

Bored of drifting around the skies in his little orange spaceship Monkey has retired from the Monkey Lander business and taken up football. He has been honing his skills but can he kick his coconut ball the four monkey kilometres from the jungle back to his friends in Monkey Village?

How To Play

It really could not be any simpler. Monkey stands waiting, juggling a coconut ball with his feet. All you have to do is kick it as far as you can. When the ball is at exactly the right height click to kick then sit back and, if you have got it just right, enjoy the glorious sight of your hoofed punt whizzing through the scenic forest, desert, moonscape, tropical grove, Monkey Village, and desert island landscapes and all the way into outer space. That is all there is to it. The only thing you have to worry about is timing it precisely in order to achieve the perfect combination of velocity and trajectory (or speed and angle if you prefer).

When Monkey is doing his kick ups the maximum height of the ball varies. The best time to kick the ball is on the way down from one of his high over head height kicks, just as the ball drops to about chest level. If even that seems like a bit too much effort you can always just admire Monkey’s ability to juggle the ball for hours at a time.

LBUG.tv Review

Monkey Kick Off is an incredibly simple but strangely addictive game. The one click gameplay has been pared down to just judging the fall of the ball and timing Monkey’s kick. The feel of the game is just right, Monkey himself moves very naturally and the physics of the ball movement are entirely convincing. The graphics are simple but stylish and full of character, and the sound minimal but atmospheric. The feature that really makes Monkey Kick Off though is the challenge your monkey friends function. The game remembers your personal best distance. Once you have recorded a huge distance just click the button to view a replay of your special moment, enter your name and the game will generate a custom URL that you can email to a friend or post on your website or blog. The best thing is that when they receive notice of your mighty feat they can sit there and jealously watch it looping round endlessly over and over again and marvel at your superiority.

Challenge LBUG.tv

We at LBUG.tv are very proud of our coconut kicking abilities, so we challenge anyone to better our best distance of 5465 monkey metres. The highest verifiable distance we have seen recorded is 7554 monkey metres, although the physics of the game have been tweaked since and this may no longer be achievable.
